What is Flywheel?
Flywheel is your new favorite mode of transportation. Request a cab, track your driver as they approach and pay right through the app at the end of your ride.
Unlike with the other guys, your Flywheel driver will always be a commercially insured, criminal background checked, professional.
Where can I use Flywheel?
San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles and adding new cities all the time.
How much does Flywheel cost?
We keep it pretty simple – your Flywheel ride will cost what a taxi in your city would cost.
Can I cancel my ride?
Absolutely. You have 2 minutes to cancel your ride without any penalty. If you want longer than 2 minutes to cancel, you’ll be charged a $5 fee that we’ll use to compensate the driver for their time.
Why do I need to enter my mobile phone number?
In case your driver needs to get in touch with you about something regarding your ride (traffic, confirm pickup location etc.). All phone numbers are kept anonymous, and your driver can only call you through the app.
Why do I need to enter my credit card?
Your credit card is used to pay for your ride. Simply walk out of the cab when you arrive to your destination and your card will be charged. Totally seamless.
How does tipping work?
Tipping your driver is the perfect way to thank them for a job well done. You can adjust the tip amount (percentage) at any point during your ride or up to 5 minutes after.
The tip is automatically applied and charged to your card along with the metered fare and $1 service fee.
On average, most passengers leave a 20% tip so that’s where we set the default amount when you first create your Flywheel account. You can change your default tip in your “Settings” menu.
How do I access the “Settings” menu?
For iOS, you can access your “Settings” menu in the upper left corner of the main screen. For Android it will be in the upper right corner of the main screen.
How do I redeem a promo code?
Access the “Settings” menu in your Flywheel app to find the “Promo Code” button. Click the “Promo Code” button and enter your promo code in the field. Voila!
Can I use a promo code more than once?
Each promotion can only be redeemed once per account.
Do credits carry over?
Yes. If you have more credits than the cost of your ride the unused credits will be carried over and applied to your next ride.
Where can I see how many credits I have?
Your available credits are listed in the “Settings” menu next to the “Promo Code” button.
I tried to enter a promo code but I keep getting an error message.
Chances are the code as expired, or you’ve already entered in. Remember, each promotion can only be redeemed once per account.
I already have Flywheel credits. Why do I still have to enter my credit card info?
Adding a credit card is necessary for requesting a Flywheel ride, whether a user has credits or not. This ensures your driver will be paid if the trip ends up costing more than your available credit balance.
We’ll always draw from your credit balance first before charging your card.
